Pac-10 teams were 26-2 last week, pushing the league's non-conference mark to 73-14 (.839). In fact, Pac-10 teams were 79-17
in games played last week, sweeping 17 of the 28 matches played... Pac-10 teams wrap up tournament play this week and
begin preparations for league play... OREGON, STANFORD, USC and WASHINGTON remain unbeaten. In fact, Oregon
has yet to drop a game this season and will be in search of its 10th straight win - a school record... Five Pac-10 teams remain
among the AVCA Top 25 - No. 2 Stanford, No. 4 USC, No. 5 UCLA, No. 8 WASHINGTON, and No. 11 CALIFORNIA.

ARIZONA hit .324 in three matches to capture the Regency Suites/Georgia Tech Classic title.
Sophomore MB Jacy Norton led the way with a career-high 13 kills on .750 (13-1-16) hitting to go
with five blocks in the Cats win over Western Carolina. In three matches at the Classic, Norton
hit .617 to collect 31 kills (3.10 kpg). The Wildcats look to win four straight for the first time since
opening the 2006 season with four consecutive victories. Coach David Rubio needs two wins to
reach 300 victories in his Arizona career (298-160, .651)... ARIZONA STATE Sophomore S Marina
Mercer and senior L Sydney Donahue were selected to the All-Tournament Team at the UVSC
Invitational. Sophomore OH Paige Mittelstaedt compiled a career-high 26 kills and a .525 hitting
percentage in the win over Utah Valley State. Mittelstaedt led the squad in kills in each of the three
matches last week, posting a total of 55 kills (4.58 kpg). Donahue needs eight digs to reach 2,000
digs for her career... CALIFORNIA swept its three opponents to capture the Golden Bear Invitational
for its 12th regular season tournament title in six years. Senior MB Ellen Orchard earned
Invitational MVP honors after posting 31 kills (3.44 kpg) and eight blocks (0.89 bpg). Junior OH
Morgan Beck and senior OH Angie Pressey earned all-tournament honors. Beck had 12 blocks
(1.71 bpg), while Pressey posted 25 kills (2.78 kpg), 19 digs and six service aces... After three victories
last week, OREGON remains undefeated at 9-0 and has yet to drop a game in 27 played, a
new record for the program. The Oregon volleyball team is just one victory shy of matching the
program's all-time winning streak, 10 matches, accomplished in 2006 and 1984. Junior OH Gorana
Maricic leads the team in kills (5.08 per game) and points (5.54 per game). Coach Jim Moore is
30-1 in non-conference action in his three seasons at Oregon... OREGON STATE is 2-1 in five game
matches this season. It was 0-3 in five-game matches all of last season. Freshman OH Jill
Sawatsky led OSU to the Sacramento State Invitational title with her career-high 16 kills in the
win over Manhattan College. Sophomore OH Rachel Rourke was named the tournament's Most
Valuable Player, while Sawatsky and junior L Ashley Evans were named to the All-Tournament
Team. Rourke posted 23 kills vs. Northridge, her third 20-plus kill match this season. It was OSU's
first tournament win in three seasons under coach Terry Liskevych... STANFORD has recorded
its best start in five years with a 7-0 opening record. The Cardinal has a chance to wrap up the
preseason undefeated this weekend, a feat the program has not accomplished in more than a decade.
Junior MB Foluke Akinradewo had a season-high of 21 kills and a season-high of eight
blocks. Junior OH Cynthia Barboza had a season-high of 22 kills, along with a season-high of 16
digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Senior S Bryn Kehoe had 61 assists and five blocks.
Kehoe, who also came up with 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season, joined Barboza
on the All-Tournament Team. Akinradewo was named the weekend's MVP with 47 kills, 19 blocks
and a .547 hitting percentage over three matches... UCLA Junior Nellie Spicer moved into fifth
all-time on the assists list on Friday at UC Irvine and for the second straight week was named
tournament MVP, earning the honors at last weekend's UC Irvine/Nike Invitational. . The junior
is averaging 12.87 assists per game and is third on the team at 3.09 digs per game. After producing
just 36 aces over their first seven matches, the Bruins had 10 against Southern Mississippi on
Saturday. Leading the way in the aces department is junior Ali Daley with nine. Twelve of the 15
Bruins who have taken the floor this season have at least one ace... USC used a match-high .500
hitting performance in game four for the win against Utah in their first road match of the season,
improving to 8-0 overall. Senior OH Diane Copenhagen had 18 kills, Freshman Kimmee Roleder
added 14 kills for USC while senior All-American Asia Kaczor had 11 kills... WASHINGTON has
only lost one game all season against Long Beach State. The Huskies have swept all seven of their
other matches. Freshman OH Becky Perry continues to lead UW in kpg (4.57) and ppg (5.20), and
is second on the team in hitting percentage (.420)... WASHINGTON STATE finished second at the
AT&T Invitational tournament. Sophomore DS/L Kelly Hyder and junior OH Brittany Johnson
were two of the players named to the seven-player all-tournament team.
