6/30/2009 Washington Named Division I Coaching Staff of the Year Head coach Heather Tarr and her entire coaching staff at the University of Washington have been selected as the NFCA's NCAA Division I Coaching Staff of the Year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Monday. Tarr and her staff piloted the Huskies to the first NCAA Championship in program history earlier this month. 6/23/2009 Pac-10 Dominates USA Softball Team Rosters Seventeen current and former Pac-10 softball players were named to three teams that will represent USA Softball Women's National team program during the 2009 summer season, the Amateur Softball Association of America announced. 6/15/2009 Washington's Lawrie Named Finalist For 2009 Honda-Broderick Cup The Collegiate Women's Sports Awards today announced the five finalists for the prestigious Honda-Broderick Cup, its annual top honor designating the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Washington junior Danielle Lawrie has been selected as one of the five finalists. 6/11/2009 This Season in Pac-10 Softball For the first time in program history and the 21st time in Conference history, the Washington Huskies shutdown the top seeded Florida Gators to win the 2009 NCAA Softball title. Danielle Lawrie, the third-seeded Huskies starting ace, was rewarded for her stellar pitching by being honored as the USA Softball Player of the Year, the WCWS Most Outstanding Player and receiving the Honda Award as the best female athlete in softball.
