STANFORD, Calif. -

Senior defender Allison Falk and sophomore goalkeeper Kira Maker were selected to two of ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-America® women's soccer teams, as announced today by CoSIDA. Falk achieved a place on the second team, while Maker was chosen to the third team.

Falk, an American studies major from Danville, Calif., has posted a 3.75 cumulative grade-point-average during her time at Stanford, and is one of two seniors to have started every game over her four-year career. A center back, she helped this year’s squad to the nation's third best regular-season goals-against-average of 0.346 and sixth-best shutout percentage of 0.650.

Along with keeping balls out of the her team’s net, Falk helped out on the other end as well, scoring one goal and recording one assist for three points during the regular season, while notching another goal in the Cardinal’s 2-0 victory over UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Maker, who has yet to declare a major, has achieved an almost perfect 3.92 GPA in her first year on The Farm, and has put up equally impressive numbers on the field. In 22 starts, she holds a 0.33 GAA and a .863 save percentage, and has only forfeited seven goals. She owns a 20-1-1 record with 12 shutouts, tying her for fourth in the single-season record for shutouts, and currently holds the nation’s third-best GAA.

This is the first time that either player has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® status.
