Kevorkian Named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Commissioner Larry Scott announced today that forward Lisa Kevorkian, a redshirt junior from CALIFORNIA was named Pac-10 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov. 2. Kevorkian played a key role for the Bears in their two wins over the Arizona schools on the weekend. She began with an assist in the third minute of the match against Arizona, and then added a goal of her own in the 54th minute of the match, to net her sixth goal on the year and put the game out of reach of the Wildcats, 2-0. In the second match of the weekend, the Bears went down to the wire with Arizona State, but finally earned the win with a golden goal in overtime by Kevorkian. In the 98th minute of the match Kevorkian put away a header for her fourth game-winner and seventh goal overall to give the Bears a 3-2 win. The redshirt junior is now second on the squad in goals (7) and assists (3). This is the first Player of the Week selection for Kevorkian, and California’s 19th selection all-time.
