Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA make it to the NCAA Championships; Stanford and UCLA make it to the Super Six.
The Bruins concluded their season with a fourth place finish (196.925) at the NCAA Championship. Junior Tasha Schwikert finished her very successful year placing second (9.9125) on the bars in the individual event championship. Freshman Anna Li also concluded her season placing ninth (9.7875) on the beam in the individual event competition.
Stanford hit all 24 of its routines in the NCAA Team Championship Event to finish 5th (196.825). Five gymnasts advanced to the individual competition. Junior Tabitha Yim competed in both the beam (9.8375) and floor (9.8875) events finishing seventh and tied for eight respectively. Sophomore Nicole Ourada finished tied for third on the beam (9.850), while Kelly Fee finished 11th (9.725). Freshman Carly Janiga competed on the vault (9.450) and beam (9.8875) finishing 15th and tied for eighth.
The eighth-ranked Oregon State gymnastics team came up short in its quest for a Super Six berth finishing 11th overall with a team score of 195.100. Two Beavers qualified for the individual competition. Freshman Mandi Rodriguez, who held the lead in the individual vault finals at the halfway point and finished fifth overall (9.8375) and sophomore Tasha Smith scored one of the highest vault scores of the evening on her first vault before ending 11th overall (9.600).
Arizona junior Karin Wurm tied for 13th place (9.825) on the floor exercise at the NCAA Championship. Senior Jamie Holton concluded a successful career competing in the preliminary competition on April 26 on the beam scoring 9.200. Freshman Brittney Morgan also competed in the all-around NCAA preliminary competition finishing tied for 12th in the second session. Arizona's three individual competitors were the most of any program not competing in the team championships.
Washington Senior Chelsea Bakken ended her career topping 9.725 on all four events and earned the third-highest all-around (38.975) score of her collegiate career to place 26th overall in the all-around at the NCAA Championships.
The Pac-10 finished the season strong receiving 15 first team all-American honors and 11 second team all-American honors.
