Tabitha Yim Name'd Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week
Jan. 30, 2007 STANFORD junior Tabitha Yim has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for January 23-29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today. Yim, a 5'2 junior from Irvine, Calif., recorded three victories this past week to propel No. 4 ranked Stanford over Washington 196.025-193.675 on Fri., Jan. 26 at Bank of America Arena. Competing in her fourth all-around this season, Yim captured her first all-around title posting a score of 39.450, her second highest this season. Helping her all-around score, Yim posted season-best scores on bars (9.950) and floor exercise (9.950), winning both of those events. She finished off the day with a second place finish on vault with a score of 9.825 and a beam score of 9.725. Stanford is currently ranked fifth in the national standings. The Cardinal will travel across the bay to take on Pac-10 rival California on Sun., Feb. 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Haas Pavilion.
