California and Stanford hit the road for Arizona and Arizona State, while USC and UCLA host Oregon and Oregon State. The first in-state clash takes place with Washington hosting Washington State on Jan. 3, 2009, which will also be televised on Fox Sports Net. It will be the Huskies' second appearance of the week on television, as their Dec. 30 contest vs. Kansas State will also be televised on FSN.
PAC-10 PLAYERS RECEIVE MORE PRESEASON NODS, NAISMITH RELEASES PRESEASON LIST: The Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors selected three Pac-10 players among a list of top 50 candidates for the Naismith Award, presented to the nation's top collegiate women's basketball player. The nominees included Stanford's Jayne Appel, California's Ashley Walker and a new face Arizona's Ify Ibekwe. All three have already garnered Pac-10 Player of the Week nods, with Appel and Walker receiving the award twice this season. The list will be narrowed to the top 30 in February with the final ballot being announced in March.
