Ebony Hoffman Picked To Preseason All-Pac-10 Team
Oct. 29, 2003 WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- For the third straight year, USC women's basketball senior Ebony Hoffman has been selected to the 2003-04 Preseason All-Pac-10 team according to a poll of women's basketball media released on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The media picked the Women of Troy to finish fifth in this season's conference race. With five returning starters from last year's Pac-10 Championship and NCAA Tournament team, Stanford has been tabbed as the team to beat in 2003-04. Stanford garnered all 18 first-place votes in the preseason poll, while Arizona was predicted to finish second. Hoffman is among four returning All-Pac-10 players to be named to the preseason all-conference team, which also includes Nikki Blue of UCLA, Giuliana Mendiola of Washington, Shawntinice Polk of Arizona and Nicole Powell of Stanford. The 2003-04 season will culminate with the State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament, Mar. 5-8 at HP Pavilion at San Jose. All 10 universities will participate in the tournament, with the winner receiving the Conference's automatic bid to the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
