BERKELEY - The California women's basketball team faces eight teams that qualified for either the 2003 NCAA or NIT Tournaments during the 2003-04 season. All told, 13 of the Golden Bears' 27 games, including 10 against Pac-10 schools, are against programs which advanced to the postseason last year.

Cal tips off the season at home at Haas Pavilion with exhibition games on Nov. 2 against a Bay Area Pro-Am team and Nov. 13 against Team Concept. The regular season opener is at home Sunday, Nov. 23, against South Carolina State. After entertaining San Jose State on Nov. 25, the Bears play their only three non-conference road contests of the year, beginning with the Nov. 28-29 Coors Classic in Boulder, Colo., hosted by the University of Colorado, and then a visit to Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, on Dec. 1. The Buffaloes advanced to the 2003 NCAA Sweet 16, while the Lady Raiders moved on to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Following the Bears' visit to the Lone Star State, they return to Berkeley for a six-game home stand, their longest of the season. The stretch begins Dec. 6-7 with the 13th-annual Oakland Tribune Classic, which boasts a field of Cal, 2003 NCAA Tournament participant Tulane, Miami of Ohio and Wichita State. Cal then hosts Nevada on Dec. 19 and Canisius on Dec. 21, before its Pac-10 opening weekend against Oregon (Dec. 27) and Oregon State (Dec. 29).

Stanford, Washington and Arizona represented the Pac-10 at the 2003 NCAA Tournament, while Oregon State and Arizona State earned NIT bids. The third-annual Pac-10 Tournament takes place March 5-8 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Season tickets go on sale online at CalBears.com beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and the next day at the Cal Athletic Ticket Office (2223 Fulton Street, Berkeley) or by calling 1-800 GO BEARS. Prices are $90 for adults, $42 for youth/senior/disabled, $65 for faculty/staff and $150 for a family pass (2 adults, 3 youth).

Single game tickets can be purchased beginning Wednesday, Oct. 22 in person, online or by phone. Prices are listed as $8 for adults, $3 for youth/senior/disabled and $20 for a family ticket. Groups of 20 or more people can purchase tickets in advance for $2 each.
