EUGENE, Ore. - The website, www.womenscollegehoops.com, selected Incoming University of Oregon basketball freshman Carolyn Ganes as one of its 21 "Freshmen of Impact" for the 2002-03 season.

Ganes, the Ducks' first signee under second-year coach Bev Smith, is a 6-foot-3 post player from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The youngest member of the Canadian national team last summer, Ganes averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks per game in her senior year at Aden Bowman Secondary.

Oregon finished 22-13 last season, advanced to its ninth straight postseason tournament and won the WNIT title.
