BERKELEY, Calif. - The California women's basketball team could face up to 10 teams that qualified for either the 2004 NCAA or NIT Tournaments during the 2004-05 season. Fifteen of the Golden Bears' 27 games will be played at home at Haas Pavilion.

Cal tips off the season at Haas Pavilion with exhibition games on Nov. 3 against Northwest Sports and Nov. 10 against the Bay Area Pro-Am. The regular season opener is at home Nov. 21 against Navy and is followed by a three-game road trip Nov. 26-28 to the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Included in the field are Georgia, TCU and Michigan State, all 2004 NCAA Tournament participants, along with other tough tests in Hawaii, Santa Clara, Idaho and Utah. Match-ups haven't been determined.

Following the Bears' Thanksgiving trip to Hawaii, they return to Berkeley for a five-game home stand, their longest of the season. The stretch begins Dec. 4-5 with the 14th-annual Oakland Tribune Classic, featuring Cal, Pepperdine (NIT team), Cal State Northridge and Tennessee Tech. Cal then hosts Saint Mary's Dec. 10, Long Beach State Dec. 12 and Hampton Dec. 21.

The Bears open Pac-10 play at Oregon Dec. 27 and at Oregon State Dec. 29. The team rings in the new year with its conference home opener Jan. 2 against Washington State. The regular season wraps up Feb. 26 against Oregon State in Berkeley.

Stanford, Arizona and UCLA represented the Pac-10 at the 2004 NCAA Tournament, while Oregon State, Washington and Arizona State earned NIT bids. The fourth-annual Pac-10 Tournament will be staged March 3-6 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
