PAC-10 CONFERENCE NOTES Pac-10 Embarks on Second Half of League Play: With the first half of Conference play wrapped up, the Pac-10 begins the final leg of league games as the season whittles down to the final five weeks. #2/2 Stanford puts its 40-game home court win streak on the line when it hosts USC on Fox Sports Net on Sunday, Feb. 7. The Trojans have defeated three ranked teams already this season and are looking for another upset. Prior to that, on Saturday, Feb. 6, Arizona State hosts Washington State on FSN. Oregon State plays its final non-conference game on on Tuesday, heading to Cal State Bakersfield then heads to Eugene, Ore., to take on Pac-10 rival Oregon for the second installment of the Civil War, which will be televised on the Oregon Sports Network. The Sun Devils also make a television appearance on FSN Arizona when they host Washington on Thursday, Feb. 4. California hosts UCLA on Saturday on Comcast SportsNet. Arizona will also host the Washington schools this weekend. Exciting Basketball: It has been a tight race since the Pac-10 season began, with four teams clogging up the middle, each with four or five wins, so far, while two teams are tied for second place in the standings. If you look even closer, the competition has been even tighter. Of the 45 league games played so far, 27 have been decided by 10 points or less.
