Patricia Miranda claimed the title at the Pan-American Championships earlier this year to help put her in position to claim a spot on the USA World Team.

St. Paul, Minn. - Stanford graduate Patricia Miranda was named to the USA World Team on Sunday June 23rd for the second time in her career. Miranda and the Dave Schultz Wrestling Club traveled to the 2002 World Team Trials at the Roy Wilkins Arena in Saint Paul, MN for the competition.

Miranda will compete at the 2002 Women's World Championships in Halkida, Greece on Nov. 2-3. DSWC head coach Chris Horpel will also serve as the head coach for the Women's World Team.

In all, six Schultz Club athletes made the United States National Team (the top three in the seven weight classes). Serving as the first alternates in their weight divisions are freestyle 264-pounder Tommy Rowlands and Greco-Roman ace Justin Ruiz at 211 pounds. The DSWC qualified an all-time record of 27 athletes for this year's world team trials.
