CORVALLIS, Ore. - -

Oregon State men's soccer player Matt Johnson and his father, David Rhys-Johnson, will give a live piano performance on Thursday, May 27 at 12 p.m., in the Memorial Union Main Lounge on the OSU campus.

The performance, which will feature solo pieces and duets, is part of the MU Mid-day Music Interlude, organized by MU building manager Gideon Alegado.

Johnson and his father will likely play pieces they have composed.

Johnson has given several performances at campus events, including "The Other Side," which showcases OSU student-athletes' talents outside of the competitive arena. Johnson also performed in a November edition of the MU Mid-day Music Interlude.

The program, which began in the fall of 2003, features performances by OSU students and members of the Corvallis community.

A sophomore forward, Johnson has started 21 of 41 career games for OSU's record-setting NCAA postseason squads.
