11-3 Pac-10 Football Players of the Week

Tailback Jacquizz Rodgers of Oregon State, linebacker Zack Follett of California and kicker David Buehler of USC have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Players of the Week in football, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced.

Rodgers, a freshman from Richmond, Texas, keyed Oregon State's offense in the Beavers' 27-25 win against Arizona State. Rodgers rushed 30 times for 133 yards and added five receptions for 55 yards for a total of 188 all-purpose yards. It marks the second time this year the freshman has been named offensive player of the week.

Follett, a senior from Clovis, Calif., led California's defensive effort in the Golden Bears' 26-16 win against No. 24-ranked Oregon. Follett posted 11 tackles, eight solo, including three tackles for loss (-9) and one quarterback sack (-3) and broke up a pass. Oregon entered the game averaging 41.5 points and 475 yards total offense per game, but the Cal defense limited the Ducks to 290 yards total offense, just 4-of-18 on third-down conversion attempts and picked off two passes.

In USC's 56-0 win against Washington, Buehler, a senior from Anaheim, Calif., was a perfect 8-8 on PATs and seven of his nine kickoffs pinned UW within the 20-yard line with four touchbacks.

Also nominated for offensive player of the week honors were running back Toby Gerhart of Stanford and wide receiver Patrick Turner of USC. Also nominated on defense were end Victor Butler of Oregon State, linebacker Rey Maualuga of USC and safeties T.J. Ward of Oregon and Troy Nolan of Arizona State.
