WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Wide receiver DeSean Jackson of California, cornerback Trey Brown of UCLA and kicker Thomas Weber of Arizona State, have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week. Jackson, a senior from Long Beach, Calif., provided the big plays on offense in California's 31-24 road win at Oregon. Jackson pulled in 11 receptions for 161 yards (14.6), both career highs, including two touchdown passes covering 25 and 31 yards. In addition to Pac-10 player of the week honors, he was named national Offensive Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Foundation. It marked the second Pac-10 player of the week honors for Jackson this year, having previously been named for special teams work in California's win against Tennessee. Brown, a senior from Overland Park, Kan., came up with the big plays on defense in UCLA's 40-14 road win at Oregon State. Brown intercepted two passes and made eight tackles, seven solo, as the UCLA defense limited Oregon State to 248 yards total offense (102 rushing, 146 passing) and forced five turnovers. Weber, a freshman from Downey, Calif., was a perfect four-of-four on field goals in Arizona State's 41-3 win at Stanford. Weber connected from 41, 32, 38 and 18 yards. He also was perfect on three PATs to account for 15 points in the game. Weber also kicked off nine times with two touchbacks and Stanford averaging just 13.0 yards on returns. Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were running back Nicholas Grigsby of Arizona and wide receivers Rudy Burgess of Arizona State and Brandon Breazell of UCLA. Also nominated on defense were linebackers Spencer Larsen of Arizona, Anthony Felder of California and Rey Maualuga of USC and end Dexter Davis of Arizona State.
