Oregon head coach Chip Kelly
On his expectations of quarterback Nate Costa:
"He is getting healthy. In spring practice he was going no contact. He is moving a little bit better. He is as tough a kid as I have ever had an opportunity to coach. I really think he is going to add some depth to our program. The competition has brought out the best in everyone. I'm excited for him."
On opening the season at Boise State:
"We lost that game last year. We basically ran out of quarterbacks. It will be a great test for us. I think they are 54-2 at home and the last team to beat them there was BC in the Humanitarian Bowl. I think our players see it as a challenge."
Oregon corner back Walter Thurmond III
On having home field advantage against USC this year:
"It will be a great game, but we are really not worried about that right now. We aren't trying to focus on that right now until it gets here."
