Football Tabbed To Finish 3rd In Pac-10 In Media Poll
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - One season after winning the Pac-10 title outright, the Oregon football team was picked to finish third in the Pacific-10 Conference in a poll voted on by media members. It is the second-highest predicted finish for the Ducks after being picked first in 2001.
Oregon received one first-place vote and 272 overall points, while Washington State earned 17 first-place votes marking the first time in conference history that the Cougars were pre-season favorites. Washington was picked to finish second, USC fourth behind Oregon and Oregon State selected fifth. It is the first time since the league was expanded in 1978 that all four Northwest schools were picked to finish in the upper half of the conference.
