ARIZONA will participate in the Maui Invitational this week. The Wildcats have appeared in four other Invitationals (1993, 1997, 2000, 2005) and won it once (2000). Arizona is 8-4 in the Invitational and have averaged 82.4 points per game. ARIZONA STATE set a school record with 18 three-pointers in the 104-65 win over USF. JR G Rihards Kuksiks hit 7-of-13 in the contest and is shooting 13-of-25 (.520) from beyond the arc through four games. CALIFORNIA SR G Jerome Randle posted three consecutive 20-point games with 22 vs. Detroit, 25 vs. Syracuse and 26 vs. Ohio State. Randle is averaging 22.8 points for the season and shooting 13-of-26 (.500) from three-point range. SO G Malcolm Armstead led OREGON with 21 points on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting in a loss at Portland. OREGON STATE SR G Seth Tarver posted the first double-double of his career with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-63 loss to Sacramento State. STANFORD SO G Jeremy Green had the hot hand last week for the Cardinal as he shot 12-of-21 (.571) from the field, including 8-of-16 (.500) from three-point range, and averaged 20.5 points. SO G Jarrett Mann averaged 7.0 assists for the Cardinal in two games last week and leads the league in assists, averaging 6.3 per game. UCLA bounced back from its season-opening loss to defeat Cal State Bakersfield behind a balanced attack. Five different Bruins scored in double figures, led by SO C Drew Gordon with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting. USC JR G Donte Smith has been the workhorse in the Trojans first two games, playing all 40 minutes in each contest. In fact, SO F Nikola Vucevic also played all 40 minutes in the loss to LMU. Vucevic averaged 18.5 points on 15-of-27 (.555) shooting and posted 9.5 rebounds in the two games last week. WASHINGTON SR F Quincy Pondexter has scored 25 or more points in each of the last three games, including a career-high 30 vs. San Jose State. Pondexter added 15 rebounds against the Spartans for his Pac-10 leading third double-double of the season. FR F Tyreese Breshers made the most of his 20 minutes against San Jose State as he posted 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and collected seven rebounds. WASHINGTON STATE is averaging 83.3 points through three games this season. It averaged 59.2 points per game last season.
