Men's Basketball Announces 2005-06 Schedule
July 15, 2005 Stanford, Calif. - A matchup against Gonzaga and the Pete Newell Challenge game versus Princeton highlight the 2005-06 season for the Stanford men's basketball team. This year's schedule features 13 regular season homes games in addition to two exhibition games at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal open the season on The Farm when they take on UC Irvine on Saturday, November 19th. The team play at home two more times before hitting the road for two weeks to begin the month of December. A home game against Denver on December 19 precedes the prestigious Pete Newell Challenge, held in Oakland, Calif. at the Oakland Coliseum. Stanford will take on perenial NCAA postseason participant Princeton on Dec. 21st. Pac-10 action kicks off on December 29th for the Cardinal when they travel to Los Angeles to open against UCLA. That matchup is followed by a trip to USC on Dec. 31st. After a Thursday trip to cross-town rival California on Feb. 9th, Stanford will head north to Spokane, Wash., to take on Gonzaga.
