Ducks Breeze Past Anteaters

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Chamberlain Oguchi scored 25 points and had six 3-pointers to lead Oregon to an 85-42 win against UC Irvine Friday at McArthur Court. Bryce Taylor added 18 points for the Ducks (4-0), while Aaron Brooks scored 14 and freshman guard Tajuan Porter, who recorded 93 points in Oregon's first three games, scored 12 against the Anteaters (2-3). Oguchi, who had only eight points in the first half and missed on his first six 3-point attempts, finished 9-for-18 from the field and 6-for-13 from the 3-point line. Patrick Sanders and Darren Fells scored 10 points apiece for Irvine, which was coming off a 67-52 upset against 2005 and 2006 National Invitation Tournament champion South Carolina last Tuesday. Against the Ducks, the Anteaters were held to 19 field goals and just 13 second-half points. Oguchi hit his first 3-pointer with 10:47 left in the game and the Ducks leading 53-35. He followed by scoring Oregon's next seven field goals to push Oregon's lead to 75-39 with 3:57 remaining. The Ducks shot 49 percent from the field in the game and made 12-of-28 3-point attempts. Taylor scored 14 points in the first half to help give Oregon a 41-29 lead at the break, including a 3-pointer during an 11-0 run to end the half.
