Pac-10 Names 2008-09 Tom Hansen Conference Medal Winners

The 2008-09 Pacific-10 Tom Hansen Conference Medal winners were announced today. A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership. The Pac-10 recently renamed the award the Tom Hansen Conference Medal in honor of Hansen, who is retiring at the end of June after serving 26 years as Commissioner of the Pac-10.

Oregon Men, Washington Women Sweep Cross Country Honors

OREGON's Galen Rupp and WASHINGTON's Kendra Schaaf were named the Pacific-10 Conference Cross Country Athletes of the Year, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Cross Country All-Academic Teams Announced

Following are the 2008 Pacific-10 Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Rupp, Oregon Men Win National Championship

Oregon's Galen Rupp overtook Liberty's Sam Chelanga to win the men's NCAA cross-country title and the Ducks grabbed their second consecutive championship on Monday.
