WOODLAND, Calif. - The Washington track and field teams placed 27 student-athletes on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's All-Academic Team it was announced today by MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird.

The Huskies' total ranked second to Stanford in the conference, which includes eight Pac-10 schools plus two Big West teams. The awards reflect the 2008 indoor track and field season and cumulative GPA's after winter quarter.

To be eligible for inclusion, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA above a 3.0, have studied at least one full year at their current institution, and have participated in at least 50% of the team's scheduled indoor meets.

Both Husky men's and women's teams placed in the Top-25 at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships in mid-March, with the men finishing tied for 10th and the women tied for 22nd. NCAA competitors also receiving MPSF academic honors include junior Andrea Brown (DMR), senior Kelley DiVesta (pole vault), sophomore Katie Follett (mile), senior Amanda Miller (mile, DMR), and sophomore Scott Roth (pole vault).
