Pac-10 Names 2008-09 Tom Hansen Conference Medal Winners

The 2008-09 Pacific-10 Tom Hansen Conference Medal winners were announced today. A Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership. The Pac-10 recently renamed the award the Tom Hansen Conference Medal in honor of Hansen, who is retiring at the end of June after serving 26 years as Commissioner of the Pac-10.

Pac-10 Announces Spring Scholar-Athletes of the Year Presented by Toyo Tires

The Pacific-10 Conference has named the spring Scholar-Athletes of the Year, presented by Toyo Tires®. These awards have been established to honor collegiate student-athletes who are standouts both academically and in their sports discipline.

Pac-10 Announces 2009 Tennis All-Academic Teams

Following are the Pacific-10 Conference Men's and Women's Tennis All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Pac-10 Penalizes UCLA For Men's Tennis Violation, USC Declared 2008 Team Champion

The UCLA men's tennis program has been penalized by the Pacific-10 Conference for allowing a student-athlete to compete while ineligible during the 2008 season. The Conference determined that UCLA would be required to forfeit all singles and doubles matches in which the ineligible student-athlete participated during the 2008 season.
