Cougar Swimmers Post Solid Times at the World University Games

BELGRADE, Serbia - Washington State University swimmers Michaela Ahlin and Rugile Mileisyte continued competition at the World University Games, Thursday. Ahlin, a rising-senior from Tyreso, Sweden, was third in her heat and 28th overall in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:05.71. She best 14 swimmers in the event and missed making the cut for the semifinals by 2.42 seconds. Mileisyte, a rising-junior, was third in her heat and 23rd overall in the 50 backstroke. The Alytus, Lithuania native was just off her own national record of 30.04 and a mere 0.53 seconds shy of the cut for the semifinals. Friday, Ahlin (200 butterfly) and Mileisyte (50 free) will compete in their best event, respectively.
