Michael Ahlin Advances to Semifinals of 100 Fly at World University Games

BELGRADE, Serbia - Washington State University swimmer Michaela Ahlin qualified for the semifinals and finished 13th in the 100 butterfly at the World University Games, Wednesday. A native of Tyreso, Sweden, Ahlin finished second in her heat and 14th overall in the preliminaries with a time of 1:01.10. She was 1.89 seconds behind Hong Kong's Hannah Wilson, who posted the best time (59.21) in the preliminaries. In the semifinals, Ahlin recorded a time of 1:01.19 which was seventh in her heat and 13th overall. The rising-senior was 0.61 seconds shy of eight place finisher Svetlana Fedulova of Russia and did not advance to the final. Wilson notched a World University Games record 58.52 in her semifinal heat.
