STANFORD-- Stanford senior swimmer Jason Dunford, who will be competing at this week's World University Games and at the World Championships later this month, was named a first team Scholar All-American by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.

The human biology major was named an All-American 19 times over his career, earning five All-America certificates for Stanford this past season. He was a four-time All-American in the 100 butterfly, 200 and 400 free relays. Over his career the Cardinal finished third nationally three times and were runner-up to the national title in 2007.

In international competition, swimming for Kenya, Dunford briefly held the Olympic Record in the 100 butterfly (51.14) and was a finalist at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

Athletes must qualify for the NCAA Championships and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 or higher.
