         <description><![CDATA[The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars, which are presented by the Diverse: Issues In High Education magazine, were recently named, recognizing the academic achievements of 49 Pacific-10 Conference student-athletes from four member institutions.          <description><![CDATA[Stanford became only the fifth different team champion in 13 years of championship racing as it won the 2009 NCAA Women's Rowing Division I Championship on Sunday at Cooper River Park. The Cardinal won an individual championship in the first Varsity Eights and finished with 88 points to top the team standings in the field of 16 schools. There was a tie for second place in the team standings between California and Yale, who each scored 85 points. The Golden Bears finished in second place by virtue of a higher finish in the Grand Final of the Varsity Eights.
