W Golf in Fourth Place at Mountain Shootout

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona women's golf junior varsity sits in fourth place Monday after the first round of the 2008 Mountain Shootout in Flagstaff, Ariz. The Arizona JV tallied a 24-over 316 in the opening round to sit in fourth place in the seven-team field. Florida Southern has the team lead after 18 holes with a four-over 296 tally. UA's Isabelle Boineau shot a two-under 71 in her first collegiate round and is alone in third place. She was one of only three players to finish the first round at par or better. Florida Southern's Marianne Andersson has the individual lead at four-under 69. Brooke Schneider is in a tie for 15th place at seven-over 80, while Marisa Smith is tied for 19th place at nine-over 82. Emily Mason is tied for 22nd place at 10-over 83, four strokes ahead of Ashley Malaska, who is tied for 33rd place. The 2008 Mountain Shootout is hosted by Northern Arizona University at Continental Country Club, a par-73, 6,014-yard layout. The tournament concludes tomorrow. Team Standings
