EVENT
The 46th Pacific-10 Conference Men’s Golf Championships will take place April 25-27 at the Walla Walla Country Club (Par 71, 6,606 yards) in Walla Walla, Wash. Washington State will serve as is the Tournament host for the 72-hole Championship.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
A practice round will take place on Sunday, April 24 before the Tournament begins on Monday morning. The opening two rounds are Monday, the third round is on Tuesday, and the final round is scheduled for Wednesday. The starting time for Monday is 7:00 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday’s starting times are set for 7:30 a.m.
Per a blind draw by Conference officials, the team pairings and order of play for the first round are as follows:
Group 1 (1st Tee - 7:00 a.m.): Arizona, Oregon
Group 2 (1st Tee - 7:48 a.m.): Arizona State, California
Group 3 (1st Tee - 8:36 a.m.): Washington State, USC
Group 4 (10th Tee - 7:20 a.m.): UCLA, Oregon State
Group 5 (10th Tee - 8:08 a.m.): Stanford, Washington
TOURNAMENT SCORING
Each team is comprised of six golfers. The five individuals from each team with the low scores for any 18-hole round constitute the scoring members of the team for that given round. The team championship will be awarded to the squad with the lowest total combined score for all rounds.
RANKINGS
As of April 18th, the Golfweek/Sagarin Index shows that five Pac-10 teams are ranked in the Top-30, while nine teams are listed in the Top-100. USC is ranked No. 14, followed by UCLA at No. 16, Arizona State is ranked No. 17, Arizona at No. 24 and rounding out the Top-30 is Washington at No. 29. As for the rest of the Conference, Stanford is No. 50, Oregon State at No. 61, Oregon at No. 66, California checks in at No. 75 and Washington State at No. 105...Individually, Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares is ranked No. 36, Daniel Im of UCLA is ranked No. 46, USC's Ben Hayes is ranked No. 47 an Arizona's Henry Liaw is ranked No. 49.
