6/23/2009 Washington's Taylor Top Amatuer Finisher At U.S. Open Husky senior-to-be Nick Taylor finished the 2009 U.S. Open in a four-way tie for 36th place after shooting an 8-over, 288 during the rain-soaked tournament at Bethpage Black. Taylor, from Abbottsford, B.C., shot a final round 75 to end the Open as the top finishing amatuer. 6/13/2009 Arizona State's Munoz Wins Ladies British Amateur Former Arizona State golfer Azahara Munoz defeated fellow Sun Devil Carlota Ciganda to claim the 2009 Ladies British Open Amateur title. Munoz topped Ciganda 2 and 1 in match-play competition at the tournaments first all-Spanish final round held at the Royal St. David's Golf Club at Harlech North Wales. 6/9/2009 Arizona State's Kennegard Named Pac-10 Golfer of the Month Kennegard, a sophomore from Klippan, Sweden, won the NCAA West Regional with a 12-under par 204 and followed it up with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
