Pac-10 In Print
Oregon State Softball Oregon State Softball 2007 Written By Natalie Johnson
The 2007 season began with nothing less than high expectations for the Oregon State softball team. Coming off a 2006 season adorned with record-breaking statistics including the longest winning streak in Oregon State softball history (reeling off over 30 consecutive wins) and topping the year off with the first ever trip to the Women’s College World Series, the 2007 squad expected nothing but repeated success. After five grueling weeks on the road and a somewhat disappointing preseason record, our team is anxiously looking ahead to the start of Pac-10 competition. While our team is not discouraged by falling short of expectations, we know there is much room for improvement and look forward to reaching our full potential when competition picks up during conference play. Softball and baseball have the longest season in intercollegiate athletics with the most games played by far. Our team knows that the time to peak is now and morale could not be higher. Keep an eye out for the Beavs as we take our first step in the right direction as we take on Cal, Stanford, and the starting March 30th at home in Corvallis.
