Nov. 26, 2009
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Tiger Woods, Stanford alumnus and the world’s top-ranked golfer, will appear in a new promotional spot for the Pac-10 Conference. Woods, fresh off an Australian Masters win in Melbourne last weekend, filmed the spot on Saturday at the 112th Big Game between Stanford and California. Woods is one of many notable athletes and coaches who have agreed to show their appreciation and support for their school and the Pac-10 Conference by participating in the Conference’s new marketing campaign. "We were thrilled to have some of the greatest legends of the Pac-10 Conference participate in the filming of the new series of Pac-10 promotional TV spots,” said Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott. “Tiger Woods is an influential figure both on and off the golf course, and he will continue to be an inspiration through his support for the Conference." The campaign consists of six different television spots and various print advertisements. It features alumni from each of the 10 institutions who have experienced great success beyond their collegiate careers as well as accomplished Pac-10 coaches. The campaign focuses on six defining characteristics of the Conference and its athletes: “Champion,” “Dominance,” “Hero,” “Legend,” “West Coast Appeal" and “Passion.” The commercial featuring Tiger Woods will air on Fox Sports Net (FSN) during the UCLA-USC football game (11/28), on ESPN during the Oregon State-Oregon football game (12/3), and on ABC during the Rose Bowl Game (1/1/10).
