STANFORD’s Nick Amuchastegui has been named the Pac-12 Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year, presented by Toyo Tires, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Friday.

STANFORD 174-pounder Nick Amuchastegui has been unanimously named the 2012 Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year, CAL POLY 165-pounder Dominic Kastl the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year and Jim Zalesky of OREGON STATE the Pac-12 Coach of the Year.

Starting today, 24 wrestlers from the Pac-12 Conference will compete for a national title at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.

Oregon State held off a late charge from host Boise State to claim the Pac-12 Wrestling Championship for the second time in three years.

The 50th annual Pac-12 Conference Wrestling Championships hosted by Boise State will be held at Taco Bell Arena on Sun., Feb. 26.
